Fatima Jinnah Women University has been established in the premises of the Old Presidency building. Our heritage has been beautifully interlinked with the education of women for the next millennium. The main building is Victorian as reflected in its architectural splendor. This building was originally built as a residence by two famous Sikh brothers, Mohan Singh and Sohan Singh of Rawalpindi. This became the Presidency of Pakistan around the early 70 ‘s. The rooms are steeped in history; personalities like Ch. Fazal Elahi, President Zia-ul-Haq, and Benazir Bhutto have walked in the corridors of this building. Ex. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif inaugurated this gift for the nation’s daughters and their families on August 6, 1998.
Its first Pakistani women university and sure their are some of the most beautiful girls studying. Fatima Jinnah Women University was established in 1998 at Old Presidency in Rawalpindi. It was the first female university in Pakistan. A sub-campus of FJWU is being established at Sialkot. University is offering programs in Arts, Computer Sciences, Literature, Communication Sciences, Defense, Economics and Economic Studies. University has a great faculty and emerging as Pakistan’s top universities.
